Diversified Communications Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 41 009 872 82) (“Diversified,” “we,” or “us”), together with its affiliates and subsidiaries, connects, educates, and strengthens business communities through market-leading events, exhibitions, digital products, and publications.
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information when you interact with us, including through our websites, events, exhibitions, applications, digital media products, and other services (collectively, the “Services”). We try to limit the information we collect to only that which is required in order to perform our core business functions but we do need to collect information about an identified individual or an individual, as defined in the Privacy Act, (“Personal Information”) and information about health, or membership in a professional or trade association which is defined in the Privacy Act as (“Sensitive Information”) in relation to providing the business services you have either requested or we have a legitimate reason to believe you are interested in.
Diversified is subject to the Australian federal Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (“Privacy Act”) and the Australian Privacy Principles (“APPs”). Where we collect personal information from individuals in the European Economic Area (“EEA”) or the United Kingdom (“UK”), we also comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”).
This Policy applies to all individuals who: visit our websites (“Visitors”); register to use our Services (“Customers”); or register to attend our events (“Attendees”); as well as individuals whose Personal Information we obtain from third-party sources, such as industry associations, member organisations, and data enrichment providers.
A. Information You Provide
When you express interest in or register to use our Services, we collect personal information such as your name, company name, address, phone number, and email address (“Contact Information”).
When purchasing Services, we may also collect billing details such as billing name and address, credit card information, and organisation details (“Billing Information”).
If you make an accommodation request, we may collect limited Sensitive Information about your health information (such as accessibility requirements, dietary needs, or allergies) so that we can safely accommodate your needs our provision of the Services. We collect such information only with your explicit consent or as otherwise permitted under the Privacy Act or GDPR Article 9. We retain Sensitive Information only for as long as required for the specific purpose for which it was collected.
If a particular Service is limited to members of a particular industry, we may collect Sensitive Information about trade associations you are a member of or memberships you hold in order to ensure the suitability of the Services for your needs.
B. Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain technical information through cookies, web beacons, server logs, and similar tools (“Website Navigational Information”), including browser and device type and language; IP address and location; pages viewed, links clicked, time spent on pages; and referring and exit URLs, platform type, and error logs.
We may use third-party analytics providers to assist in collecting and analysing this information.
C. Location Information
We may use location data to customise our Services or determine regulatory applicability. You may disable location tracking on your mobile device if you do not wish to share this information.
D. Information from Third Parties
We may obtain information about you from professional associations, member organisations, exhibitors, sponsors, data enrichment providers, and publicly available sources such as LinkedIn and professional directories.
Where personal information is collected from a third party, we take reasonable steps to ensure it was collected and disclosed to us in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

If you access our Services through a third-party login, you authorise Diversified to collect and use, in accordance with this Policy, any information made available through that interface. E. Aggregate or De-Identified Data
We may aggregate or de-identify information so that it no longer identifies you. This Policy does not restrict our use or disclosure of such data.
By using our Services with your browser set to accept cookies, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this section.
We use cookies, server logs, and tracking pixels to recognise your device, store preferences, personalise content, perform analytics, and support security. Third parties may also place cookies on your device to collect usage information for advertising and analytics purposes. We do not control third-party cookies; their use is governed by those parties’ privacy policies.

In the case of implied consent you may always opt out of having your information or used by us by managing your preferences via an unsubscribe link in communications sent to you or by contacting [email protected].
Service Providers. With third parties who perform essential or requested services on our behalf (e.g., billing, marketing, data storage, analytics, and legal services).
Joint Offers. If you purchase or express interest in a jointly offered product, we may share your information with our promotion partner. Their use of information is governed by their own privacy policy.
Attendee Badge Scanning. If you have your event badge scanned by an exhibitor or sponsor your information will be shared with them. Exhibitors and sponsors who receive your information act as independent data controllers and are responsible for their own privacy compliance.
Legal and Safety Purposes. To comply with legal process, enforce agreements, respond to claims, or disclose in emergency circumstances as permitted or required by law.
Business Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business, including during due diligence.
We use services such as Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our Services. Your IP address may be disclosed to these providers. You can opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.
Third parties may also serve tailored ads to you based on your use of our Services. We do not control these opt-out mechanisms and are not responsible for their accuracy or continued availability.
We maintain appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard personal information against unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. While we take reasonable measures, we cannot guarantee that personal information will never be disclosed inconsistently with this Policy.
We retain personal information only for as long as required for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required or permitted by law. When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
In the event of an eligible data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. Where GDPR applies, we will also notify the relevant supervisory authority within the required timeframe and will inform affected individuals where the breach poses a high risk to their rights and freedoms.
If you are an attendee, exhibitor, subscriber, or client, we may send you direct marketing communications about our exhibitions, events and products where permitted by law and where you would reasonably expect this.
Where we obtain personal information from third parties and intend to use it for direct marketing, we do so only with your prior consent or where you would reasonably expect to hear from us about relevant industry events and services.
All marketing communications include an unsubscribe mechanism. You may opt out at any time by: clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email; emailing our Privacy Officer at [email protected] or submitting a request through our Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) Portal.
Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional communications necessary for the provision of our Services (such as event registration confirmations).
Diversified may provide bulletin boards, blogs, or chat rooms through the Services. Any Personal Information you choose to submit in such a forum may be read, collected, or used by others who visit these forums, and may be used to send you unsolicited messages. Diversified is not responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these forums.
We may post Customer names and testimonials on our websites with each Customer’s prior written consent.
Our Services are governed by Australian law. If you use our Services from outside Australia, your information may be accessed, transferred, stored, or processed in Australia or other countries. When transferring personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps under Privacy Act to ensure recipients are subject to privacy obligations substantially similar to the APPs. This Policy applies regardless of where your information is transferred or accessed.
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Any information you provide through third-party sites is governed by their own privacy policies.
Our Services are business-to-business and are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have done so, we will promptly delete that information.
A. Rights Under the Privacy Act (Australian Users)
Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to:
access the personal information we hold about you (APP 12);
request correction of inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information (APP 13);
opt out of direct marketing (APP 7); and
complain about a breach of the APPs.
We will respond to access and correction requests within a reasonable time. If we refuse access or correction, we will provide written reasons and information about how to complain.
B. Rights Under the GDPR (EEA/UK Users)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have additional rights including: access, rectification, erasure (“right to be forgotten”), restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing, and withdrawal of consent.
For GDPR purposes, Diversified acts as a Data Controller. We process personal data on the basis of contract performance, consent, legitimate interests, or legal obligation, depending on the nature of the processing.
EEA/UK individuals may lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in their country of residence.

You may exercise any privacy right by:

submitting a request through our Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) Portal;

We may verify your identity before responding to requests.
