STAGING ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE EVENTS

  • Track the impact of each event and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Introduce initiatives to increase our events efficiency. This includes working with venues on lighting and waste streams, reviewing the materials used for stands and signage, and choosing sustainable choices in transport.

INSPIRING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

  • Promoting our commitment to sustainability and highlighting our achievements through signage, online manuals, websites, and communications with both visitors and exhibitors.
  • Integrating sustainability into every aspect of our brand strategy, inspiring customers to prioritise sustainable development in their own practices.

SUPPORTING OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES

  • Donating surplus food and food products to local food banks.
  • Where feasible, donating leftover furniture to charitable organisations and community missions.

2024 achievements

  • We have partnered with City Switch, a local government initiative that helps businesses track and reduce their carbon emissions, while offering resources on sustainable practices.
  • Internally, we regularly share information about upcoming sustainability-focused events and observances.
  • Our online manuals provide exhibitors with guidance on minimising their environmental impact during events.
  • All event lanyards are made from recycled materials, including bottle tops and food packaging.
  • Post-event, all lanyards and badges are fully recycled.
  • All coffee cups and pods used at our events are composted to reduce waste.
  • Water refill stations are available at all events to encourage reusable bottle usage.
  • We prioritise low-carbon footprint menu options whenever possible.
  • No more than 30% of onsite signage is disposed of in landfills; the rest is either recycled or repurposed.

What's next?

  • Redesign our space-only stand approval form to gather detailed information about the materials exhibitors use in their stands and ensure appropriate waste management solutions are in place.
  • Explore and implement alternative materials for non-recyclable building products, collaborating with stand builders to eliminate their use.
  • Achieve a zero-waste policy, ensuring that 0% of signage and event waste ends up in landfill.
  • Identify and track our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and develop a comprehensive plan to reach net-zero carbon emissions.
